Choon of the Week! Kanye West ft DJ Khaled & DJ Pharris - Theraflu

"And I’ll admit, I fell in love with Kim, round the same time she had fell in love with him"

Kanye West dropped an early Easter present to his devoted followers on Friday with two cuts from the upcoming, and eagerly anticipated, G.O.O.D Music compilation album.

The track is oddly called Theraflu, presumably a reference to how Kanye is so "cold" to his enemies he leaves them needing flu medication (get it?).  Whatever it's called, it's a straight up banger.

Enjoy!

Jay Z and Kanye West today dropped a little treat for their fans worldwide, and a nod to their London following, with the release of their exclusive new video for Ni**as in Paris.  Projected onto the walls of Shoreditch High Street Station during rush hour today, the video itself is, in the words of Kanye, cray.

The Urbanite Hip Hop Artist(s) of the Year - Jay Z + Kanye West

"...not bad huh, for some immigrants"

Being responsible for having the most anticipated album of the year is something that Jigga and Kanye have become accustomed to.

When the release date for Watch The Throne was announced, the rap world expected a big project that would cement the two stars' status as rap legends.  What we got in reality was something that exceeded our expectations and more; we got an album that musically experimented and stretched the talents of the two artists with such varied production.

Aside from Watch The Throne, the two legends also pursued individual initiatives that only served to increase their power in the music industry.  Kanye saw his G.O.O.D music project flourish with the signing of rap powerhouse Pusha T (who released some great music in 2011), the growing popularity of Big Sean and the success of his album Finally Famous (and his monster of a track Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay), the re-birth of Common and the continued evolution of artists like Cyhi da Prince and Kid Cudi.  Be sure to expect some serious music from this group as a collective very soon.

On Jigga's side, his musical empire continued to grow and his Mrs is due to give birth anytime soon.  It is quite hard to remember any time in history when two rappers were so at the peak of their game that they technically controlled vast swaths of a particular industry.  With rumours of them taking their Watch The Throne tour worldwide, do not be expecting any of them to slow down any time soon.

Choon of the Week!

"I don't even know what that means?!" "No one knows what it means but it's provocative, it gets the people going!"

With this week's news events being dominated by rioters, looters, stock market crashes and the never ending saga of Cesc 'will he just up and leave' Fabregas, it has been difficult for us at Team Urbanite to focus on the latest music developments on the scene.

Despite this, after much deliberation we at The Urbanite have finally managed to decide on our 'Choon of the Week'.

With Kanye West and Jay Z making musical history this week with the release of their much anticipated album 'Watch The Throne' it is only fitting and understandable that the big choon that we have blaring on our ipods and Blackberrys this week comes from this album:

On 'Niggas in Paris', 'Ye and Jay Z trade lyrical punches with 'Ye in our opinion coming out on top.  With this track by far being our favourite on the album, expect 'Watch the Throne' to go down as the hottest album of the year.  Until Drake drops 'Take Care'. Or J Cole finally releases 'Cole World'!

Anyway, Kanye and Jay definitely have us 'going gorillas' on this track and for that reason 'Niggas in Paris' is our 'Choon of the Week'.

Enjoy!
