I defy anyone to watch this video and not have a tear in their eye. Whilst a lot of us have called for retribution against the looters and the formation of vigilante groups to patrol the streets Tariq Jahan, who lost his son in what was a reckless act of murder by looters, has acted in heroic fashion.
This man is an example to us all. He had to watch his son die in his arms and then had the courage to face the media and prevent what would probably have turned into a race riot. I can only wish that I had the bravery to act in the same way as this true British hero.
My thoughts and condolences go out to him and his family and to the family of the other two boys who were protecting their community.
May they all rest in peace.
